At Do Cancer we love building partnerships with other cancer support groups to extend more services to our program recipients. An organization that is aligned with our survivor-lead approach is CanCare. We've invited CanCare to share about their organization:
A cancer diagnosis can be life-altering. In a moment, everything changes, and suddenly, the future can feel overwhelming. But no one should have to face cancer alone. At CanCare, we believe in the power of connection and the strength that comes from walking alongside someone who truly understands.
At the heart of CanCare’s mission is a simple but powerful offering: one-on-one emotional support. We match individuals diagnosed with cancer to trained volunteers who have survived the same type of cancer and who are in a similar life stage. These relationships create safe, supportive spaces where fears can be voiced, hope can be shared, and strength can be found in someone who’s walked a similar path.
We also offer dedicated support for caregivers, connecting them with others who have cared for loved ones through cancer and understand the unique emotional weight that role can carry.
CanCare offers services nationwide across all 50 states, making compassionate support accessible to anyone, anywhere. As a nonprofit, all our services are completely free of charge, made possible through the generosity of our donors and volunteers.
Whether you're in a small town or a major city, you can connect with a trained CanCare volunteer from the comfort of your home.
Our services include:
Wherever you are in your journey, newly-diagnosed, navigating treatment, or adjusting to life after cancer, CanCare is here for you. Hope is just one conversation away.
